After all Whose tears ?

Another big fish in the net. Was the net cast ? By all means the answer is big NO.. The fish itself went searching for net. That is how we came to acquire all the terrestrial  knowledge about it.

All the news channels blabbering about the IPL mess 24x7 about an astounding discovery of  malpractices inside IPL circles  I wanted  to check whether I still have head rightly placed on my neck. I pity the teams which  are going for the semifinals with shattered morale and suspense about their very existence. The most wonderful part of it is that it is  their third season with no one to question their resources,  authenticity, spending etc..etc. all the three long years. Suddenly one fine morning all our sleuths wake up with divine provocation to question the franchises and the IPL boss. Should we call it as result of  bad and failed  negotiations in the closed quarters ? Or is this out come of  explicit mammoth ego display by every one in the game including our handsome ex minister with UN tag? ? Vigilance seemed to be far away from every one's mind .   Open bidding for players involving  hundreds of thousand dollars never called for IT's  attention. No body ever had any doubt about the franchise  ownerships. Don't such events involving crores ever attract government's  attention and scrutiny? Why Modi the blue eyed boy becomes obnoxious  over night? Why    this "Save Indian Cricket " slogan now ? Was Indian cricket threatened when baby IPL  became  the second most popular private sporting event in the world ?

One Harshad Mehta, one Bofors, one fodder scam, one Telgi,  one Koda, one Modi ...  we can count them on fingers. They are only few.. only few  who are caught inadvertently  in this systematized corrupt nation.   It is almost  ridiculous to point out at one as  corrupt in present day  India. Corruption and manipulations seeping deep into the roots of the system  by and large every one is compelled to be part of this  dirty game.  There is a compelling  need to make sacrifices if one doesn't want to be a part of the system.

"Be happy. At  least  some are being caught" my husband said. Frankly it did not make me happy. Rather it looked farcical. It is certain that  those "some" are caught because they could not manage things well. There is enough fodder for the news channels. There is enough gossip for people. For few days there is frenetic  hunt for the tainted. .Magically every things turns around after a while. We don't hear any more news. We did know  any body,  hanged for mismanaging public money. No one in this land  was ever shot dead for embezzling . We do not have  water gates , nor Monica Lewinskys  to upturn somebody's fate in high offices. Every body seem to be happy and contended  with the present system. So why all the theatricals which lead no where ? No more waste of public time. So,  three cheers to corruption !!
